Let's see....  Medical intervention, or prayer.  I wonder which one has the most reliable results.

Well you know how God helps those who help themselves..?

There lies upon this earth herbs and minerals that may be used to heal.

We have been graced with a meager enough amount of intelligence that may be directed to the task of medical science.

Prayer is a way to amplify ACTION... Without taking action, you have shown how lazy and hopeless you are. The divine is not a crutch.

god(little g)-damn IT Mike.  What kind of mumbo-jumbo are you vomiting through the internet now?

"Prayer is a way to amplify ACTION."

-Are you kidding me?  Are you playing devils-advocate on this one?  Tell me you don't actually think that saying some words, to a mystical (wo)man in the sky is some sort of amplification of ACTING?  So, by your "logic" collecting a healing herb, processing this herb, and feeding it to the ill is only part of the equation; in that we must become idolaters (See www.dictionary.com, definition #2) and worship some arbitrary deity (little d).

By that logic, in order to make my Tums (brand), or Tylenol (brand) medicine work, I need to follow the directions on the bottle, then "pray" to something, then, and only then, by amplifiying the drug I'm using, by speaking to something that does not exist, can I expect headache and indigestion relief?

"There lies upon this earth herbs and minerals that may be used to heal."

-Yeah, no shit.  Praying sure as crap isn't going to pull them out of the ground and make a healing tea out of them, is it?  I'm all for remaining positive in the face of adversity, the mind can do some of the most amazing things, (I've even been fortunate enough to have been able to observe a few) but this crap you're slinging defies even the most basic of logic.

"
Well you know how God helps those who help themselves..?"

-No, I don't.  Why?  I'll tell you.  Because I (me) act as an extension of my will, based upon reason and objectivity.  (Not objectivism, so don't start on that foolish bent.)

"
Without taking action, you have shown how lazy and hopeless you are."

-By taking action (typing, typing is an action Mike) you've shown how shallow, ignorant, and hopeless you can be.  You see, your phrasing makes a blanket statement as to my being.  Blanket statements in any other vein than the humorous are foolish.

"
The divine is not a crutch."

-Nope.  But believing in it is.

ps.  When your cell phone craps out, call back...  It's only polite.

About the cell-phone... Sorry... But I have to get a new one.
It took it's final shit.

You know damn good and well that I am not merely PLAYING The Devil's Advocate.
Besides... That's Ed's job.

Who exactly do you think folks are praying to?
It is not (As a lotta Jeebus Freaks believe) some separate entity in the sky who sits around waiting for your pathetic pleas for help.

It is a meditation upon your higher-consciousness; Your own God-consciousness.

"All matter is energy condensed into a slow vibration..."
Are we in agreement there?
If so... Then what is the fastest for of energy?

Thought.
We have all heard about how negative and positive thought can affect the outcome of our actions.

It is a notch above mere thought. It is a way to tune your entire actions according to your will.
Mind you... Praying to Jesus gets you very little result.

No shit... I prayed to him today to clean up the traffic for me on the way home from Cerritos, and it sure was an easy ride... UP UNTIL THE POINT I MADE THE PRAYER!

So then I put on Vas... Cranked my mind into the Alpha state... And drove by second-attention the whole way back.

There is a whole world out there of ritual and prayer... Most utilizing different formulas for different invocations and such.

HA!...
You ever notice that when Christians are having a good time, they are "blessed" but when it's a bad time they are being "tested"?
But if it's someone of a different faith, that person is merely lucky or has made a "demonic pact" and when they are having a rough day, they must be "cursed" or being punished.

Crock a shit.

Human beings are the biggest cause of each other's and their own misery. God ain't got shit to do with it.
You aren't being tested, you just bought a shitty car.
You aren't blessed... Your friend sells dope and gave you the extra TV to make room for his flatscreen.

Getting up after some of the hangovers we had, and making it to work.  I believe!!!!!!! Brothers and Sisters....

Sorry, I saw some room for some levity...

Or the chess game hangover where we were ressurected from....uh....being mostly dead.

We still need to get you into a class somewhere to teach you the proper way to get into a sleeping bag.  And for the love of Joe apologize again to your dog...
