A Brit reporter is going to work for Al-Jazeera.The gist of the article is that David Frost (Formerly of the BBC) will be given full editorial control of an English Language Version to air from Washington.

I doubt there are terrorists being paid by the network, but it does kind of concern me that they always get the videos of beheadings and such rather quickly.

And if Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) thinks that Al-Jazeera is "hate-based reporting", then not only has he never even
seen an Al-Jazeera broadcast... But he must not watch much Fox News either.

I doubt he's even heard as much about Al-Jazeera as he has the Michael Jackson trial.

First of all: Corporate sponsorship and
political muscle have KILLED the very
notion of "responsible journalism".
That's why Bloggers are so damned important... ESPECIALLY when they refuse sponsorship.
Besides... Any reporter used to working for the BBC might find the rules in American Broadcasting way too strict.
Maybe that will be the key to AJ's success in the West; If they can pull it off, they might have parts of the story you never get to hear.
